Students from across the state are invited to submit works of visual art that reflect their engagement with the ‘Gospel of Mark’ from the Bible.
Entrants are urged to read the ‘Gospel of Mark’ and reflect on the relevance of what they have read concerning themselves and their world, and then respond by way of producing an artwork.
Judges will be looking for works that display the following:-
- A genuine attempt at wrestling with the Biblical text.
- Something of the entrant’s personal Bible engagement journey.
- Application of the Biblical text to the entrant’s personal world.
- Artistic merit (composition, technique, originality etc.)
Judges will give special consideration to works that do not revert to clichéd religious imagery but seek to express a unique personal response.
